What is PTA?
PTA is a group of volunteers made up of families and guardians, as well as even extended families that help support students and teachers. We provide money for student and teacher supplies, cultural experiences for the students, fun and engaging family nights, sparkling our teachers' dedicated and hardworking efforts throughout the year, fundraising, and putting together the school's yearbook each year. We need the school's community support in order to do this. So please join us each 1st Monday of the month to hear about upcoming events and help in planning these.

Upcoming Events
Spring Fundraiser - Cookbook
We are hoping to do a new idea for Stearns as far as School fundraisers go. We would like each student at Stearns to send a recipe that is one of their favorites. The faculty are also welcome to do this too.
Our hopes are to create a cookbook of all of our favorite recipes that Staff and Students have at their fingertips any time their tummies start to growl and they are looking for something delicious to create. This could be anything—a snack, appetizer, breakfast, lunch, or dinner favorite.
We are hoping to sell these in time for Mother's day.
What a year to have a special token to remember—especially how many of us that have found extra time to enjoy cooking.
If everyone could submit their recipe to [email protected] by April 9th, we would really appreciate it.

Yearbook Updates
Although this school year looks quite a bit different than usual, we have every intention of making the ’20/’21 yearbook one for the, well, books! And that’s where you all come in.
We’re asking each family to submit the following to be included in the pages championing our wonderful students:
• A high-quality, close-up photo of your child to be included in their classroom page in place of a formal, LifeTouch photo. (Not fifth graders! Those will be taken soon, courtesy of the PTA—stay tuned for those details!)
• Any remote learning photos from last spring until now. We want to see those wonderful, weird, wacky moments to memorialize this bonkers time—and these stellar kids!
• Valentine’s Day drawings, either created with Ms. Vanderstelt or something crafted on their own.
• Photos of the talented orchestra students performing via the Stearns/Conte Zoom concert!
And finally, for fifth graders only:
We’d love to have our talented fifth grade artists create and submit artwork for our yearbook art contest! The entries will be judged by the fifth grade teachers and Principal Luciani, and the winner will be featured on the yearbook cover. (And runners-up might just see their work peppered throughout the yearbook, too!)
Submit any and all of this to [email protected] as soon as possible to ensure a bursting book worthy of our grads’ accomplishments and our school’s exceptional community.
Thanks in advance, friends!
